Steam · Windows & Mac
Black screen on launch is almost always a stale shader cache: right-click the game → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity. On Apple silicon, run the native build rather than Rosetta. Cloud saves live in Steam Cloud; disable them there if two machines are fighting.
itch.io · desktop
Builds are DRM-free and unsigned on some platforms. On macOS, right-click → Open the first time. On Windows, SmartScreen may warn on a fresh build — the SHA-256 checksum for every release is published on the download page.
iPhone & iPad
Requires iOS 16 or later. If the game won't open after an update, offload it (Settings → General → iPhone Storage) rather than deleting — offloading keeps your saves. iCloud sync can take a minute after a cold launch.
Android
Requires Android 10 or later and about 800 MB free. If installs fail from Play, clear the Play Store cache and retry. Aggressive battery optimisation on some devices suspends the game in the background — exempt it if a turn is ever lost.
Direct Android download
The sideload build is signed with the same key as the Play release, so it updates over the top. Verify the published SHA-256 before installing, and enable install-from-this-source only for your browser.

Text scaling to 150%, colourblind-safe realm markers, full keyboard play on desktop, and a reduced-motion setting that removes card animation. If something still doesn't work for you, tell us — we treat it as a bug.
Restoring what you bought
I reinstalled and the game is asking me to buy it again
Use Settings → Restore purchases, signed into the same store account you bought with. On iOS that is your Apple Account; on Android, the Google account that holds the licence; on Steam and itch.io, simply re-download from your library. Purchases are tied to the store account, never to us — we have no account system of our own.
Can I move my progress between devices or platforms?
Between devices on the same platform, yes, through Steam Cloud, iCloud or Google Play Games. Across platforms, a save stays where it was made. Buying on one storefront does not grant the game on another — that is a limit of the stores, not a choice of ours.
I want a refund
Refunds are issued by the store that took your money: Steam through its refund page, Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com, Google through Play's order history, itch.io through its purchase page. We cannot process these for you, but if a store refuses a refund and you believe the game misled you, write to us and we will make it right some other way.
Delete my data
Settings → Privacy → Delete my data inside the game, or email [email protected] if you have already uninstalled. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Missing or damaged cards
Every box is meant to arrive complete: all 126 cards, the same deck the digital game runs on. If yours didn't, we replace the missing cards free, anywhere we ship, for as long as the print run lasts — no receipt gymnastics.
Send your order reference, a photograph of the box contents, and the names of the cards you need. Replacements go out within five business days.
Request replacement cardsRules clarifications
The digital game is the reference implementation: where a printed card and the app ever disagree, the app is right. Anything confirmed as an error will be listed here.
How far can a counterspell chain run?
As far as the cards allow. Any Action aimed at you can be cancelled, and the cancellation can be cancelled, back and forth, for as long as the two of you still hold Counterspells. There are five Counterspells in the deck.
I cancelled a Tribute Decree — does the whole table go free?
No. Cancel a Tribute Decree and only you are spared. The rest of the table still pays.
What happens when a rival cannot cover a Tribute?
They surrender what they have and walk away owing nothing. Rivals choose what to hand over and no change is given. There is no debt in Avarra — only ruin.
Do the Realms on my board count as gold?
Never. Banked cards in your Treasury are the only thing that counts as gold. The Realms on your board are territory.
How many actions do I really get in a turn?
Three, but only one per lane: claim one Realm, play one Action, bank one card. Send the Caravan is the exception — it draws 2 and grants 1 additional Action, once per turn.
Can a finished Realm be taken off me?
Yes. Conquest seizes one complete Realm from a rival outright, and there are two in the deck. No lead is safe until the last card falls.
Playing the computer
Solo runs the same rules against the rival rulers, each using their own voice. It does not see your hand at any difficulty. If it feels like it does, that is a bug and we would like the match ID.
Contact support
A good bug report saves a week: tell us the platform and OS version, the game version from the title screen, what you expected, what happened, and the match ID if there was a match. Attach a screenshot to the email if you have one.
